In addition to admiring the crowds start to pour into the city for the Fourth, Helen and I walked around the city for some sightseeing and to see the U.S.S. Constitution makes its annual turnaround.

Helen and I went for a walk around downtown Boston on July 4th. We stopped along the Freedom Trail at Copp's Hill Burying Ground.

The steeple of Old North Church, where the laterns of Paul Revere signaled the coming of British Troops in 1775.

The U.S.S. Constitution rounds the bend after its annual Fourth of July turnaround.

It is pushed by a tugboat, having no engine of its own.

The Constitution is followed by a large entourage of boats interested in viewing it during the turnaround.

The Constitution returns to a crowd awaiting it at its dock in the Charlestown Navy Yard.

The channel is clogged with boats following the Constitution.

By 5 PM, most boats awaiting the fireworks have arrived.

The shore of the river is lined with people staking out a good spot for the fireworks and concert.
