After graduating from Caltech in June, we had to move all our stuff, including a car, to Boston for our graduate studies which begin in the fall. Although we shipped most of our loot, the easiest way to transport the car is simply to drive it. Thus begins Road Trip 2003. The trip departs from Cupertino, California where we had spent the first part of the summer with Helen's family. Our goal was to take a northern route through the United States, hitting some exciting but remote attractions such as Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore. We'd then travel through Chicago to Pittsburgh, and finally end at my parent's house in Potomac, Maryland. A few days later we'd finish the drive to Boston.
